Adrian Lindermuth

Adrian Lindermuth’s career focuses on the intersection of engineering, sustainability, and policy relating to Europe’s energy transition. He began his academic journey at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, earning master’s degrees in Construction and Environmental Engineering. He then pursued a PhD in Technical Sciences at the University of Innsbruck, focusing his research on flow behaviour at artificial structures in natural rivers.

After transitioning from academia to the private sector, he gained experience as a Junior Project Manager with an international engineering and consulting firm. He then spent three years in Brussels as a policy advisor on hydropower for Eurelectric, the association for the European power sector. In this role, he was advocated for increasing the visibility and understanding of hydropower as an essential pillar of the energy transition, emphasising its importance as a reliable, renewable source of baseload, flexible power generation, and storage.

In early 2025, he joined VERBUND, Austria’s leading energy company, as a hydropower regulatory affairs and sustainability expert.
