Matteo Bianciotto

Matteo Bianciotto is the Interim Head of Policy at the International Hydropower Association (IHA), where he leads the organisation’s global policy engagement to promote sustainable hydropower and support the clean energy transition. He works with governments, international institutions, and industry leaders to advance policy frameworks that strengthen the role of hydropower and storage in the global energy transition. He also coordinates high-level international dialogues on energy and climate.

Over the past 15 years, Matteo has built a career connecting engineering, finance, and policy. From designing and developing turbines to advising on major financial transactions and now shaping international energy policy, he brings a blend of perspectives that helps bridge technical detail with global decision-making.

He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin and a Master’s in Energy Management from ESCP Business School. He is fluent in English, Italian, French, and Spanish.
